there are very good pieces that could be extracted from the book

This is most helpful for IT governance leaders at about Level 2 out of 5 in maturity (choose a framework) that is aspiring to be a solid Level 3 and some of 4. It is helpful since it pulls together information that is available from so many sources and can help set priorities about what to do next. While it says that it is applicable to executives, there are very good pieces that could be extracted from the book; not sure I would give the book to my company board or senior leadership team though.

Great material, now we just need a map to get to it.

There are some books that must have a high quality index in order to make the book worth using. There is a ton of great information in this book, but the way it is laid out, you need to be able to move from one part of the book to another part of the book to find relevant information on different topics. Without any index at all this book is greatly crippled.

It is a good cover to cover read and you will learn a lot but that is not the strength of this book. I came back to Amazon to see if there is an e-book available that I can use when I need to find out where topics are inside the book. It currently is not being offered as an e-book. Right now unless I want to read through the book from cover to cover it is pretty much useless to me.

I need to look up a lot of information on compliance and regulations, security and architecture, and process implementation. There is a lot of great information on these topics scattered throughout the book but without a map to get to them they're completely worthless to me.

This book is going on the shelf until they come out with an e-book that I can use to look up the topics that I need to find quickly, or they decide to publish an index that we can buy to make the book usable. One other thought is that an index is a key component to making a book usable, if the authors, which wrote about what it takes to make an enterprise architecture usable missed that, what may they have possibly missed in their material that may make it fall completely apart.

This pocket size book does not paint a complete picture. It has technical data but not worth much unless you want a quick reference manual for specialist terms. It is WAY overpriced.

Excellent book for the price

Two things are noteworthy about this book: the excellent black-white illustrations and quick review over common radiology questions. The book is divided by radiology sections, and usually start off with simple anatomy pictures and labelled illustrations of the relevant modality. This is very nice, since many radiology texts do not bother to show examples and illustrations of relevant anatomy. The illustrations are also much more valuable then looking at an atlas like Netter's, since only important radiological structures are drawn. The lists of differential diagnoses are good, though they require you to already what each diagnosis is. I don't find that a problem considering the size and scope of the book.

You do not need lots of pictures to learn radiology!

This book is a great way to start getting acquainted with Radiology. It gives a good background on some technological facts and a useful coverage of specific pathologies that you need for differential diagnosis. Emphasis on background knowledge can be more helpful for learning in radiology then simply looking at radiology picture examples. This is a great book for medical students in their last 2 years of uni!

About the Author
Adel S. Saada (Ing., E.C.P., Ph.D., Princeton University) is presently Professor of Civil Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Saada received his Ing�nieur des Arts et Manufactures degree from �cole Centrale des Arts et Manufactures de Paris, France, and the equivalent of a Master of Science degree from the University of Grenoble, France. Before coming to Princeton University the author was a practicing structural engineer in France. His teaching activities are in two major areas: the first is that of the mechanics of solids and in particular elasticity; the second is that of mechanics applied to soils and foundations. His research activities are primarily in the area of stress-strain relations and failure of transversely isotropic geomaterials. Much of his research work has been supported by personal grants from the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Air Force. Dr. Saada is a member of several professional societies, a consulting engineer, and the author of numerous papers published in both national and international journals.
